Recital of French Art Song with soprano, Kirsty Williamson

Building on a relationship that goes back to their time together as students at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Scottish soprano, Kirsty Williamson will make her Maltese debut here alongside composer/accompanist, Tom Armitage. This concert will feature the world-premiere of Tom's song cycle, Montségur, set to Occitan poetry by the female troubadours - the Trobairitz. The recital will also feature works by great French art song composers such as Poulenc, Faure, Duparc, Chausson, Paladilhe, etc.

EDIT: Due to illness, Kirsty Wiliamson was unable to perform in the event. Instead, accompanist Tom Armitage presented a solo programme of piano transcriptions of the above songs, in addition to solo French repertoire (Debussy 'Deux Arabesques' and 'Sarabande', Benjamin Godard piano transcription of 'Berceuse' from 'Jocelyn'). The world-premiere of Montségur has been delayed until further notice.

EU-Japan Fest 2018

As part of the EU-Japan Fest, Ise Boys and Girls Choir (Japan) & The SOPA Music Studio Choir (Malta) will join forces for a celebration of International Youth in Concert. Crusading Off Course, yet again
