SOPA Choir goes to Japan!
Tom will be visiting the city of Ise in Japan with the SOPA Choir that he co-conducts with Francesca Aquilina. In Ise, they will perform Tom's own Lullaby (from the stage play What a Piece of Work is Man by Denise Mulholland) and premiere The Arrow and the Song, for soprano soloists (Francesca Aquilina & Megumi Hiro) and choir (SOPA Choir & Ise Boys and Girls Choir). The premiere of the piece will be given at Ise Grand Shrine and then performed again at Ise Topia.

SOPA Outreach will be touring their production of Tom Armitage's childrens' opera The Legend of the Blue Lady around various schools on the Maltese Islands during the first three months of 2019. Tom will also be at the piano and the cast includes Francesca Aquilina, Cathy Lawlor and Jeremy Grech, directed by Lorraine Aquilina.

Completing the Mozart/Da Ponte cycle, Teatru Manoel will be producing Così Fan Tutte, directed by Jack Furness and conducted by Philip Walsh. Tom will be chorus répétiteur for this production.

Teatru Malta's production of Euchar Gravina's opera, libretto by Clare Azzopardi and directed by Denise Mulholland, will be performed at the Birgu Maritime Museum. Tom is rehearsal conductor for this production.
